Quick Tip: Facebook and Twitter
Salaam and Peace everybody,
I am here procrastinating on some book review I have to do and giving you a quick little tip I just discovered regarding Facebook and Twitter. If you’re like me, you love both of them, and I just found something really cool to help you update your Facebook status and make a tweet at the same time.
Before I go on, I do have to introduce you to my new “Find me on…” bar to the right, it has basically all the sites I am online, including twitter and facebook (I don’t really use flickr, but hey, every little thing counts).
And also, I half-recorded a song today that I’ve been working on for the last week or so, and the beat’s made by my friend, Haider, so check out his stuff, and you can check out the preview to the soon-to-be song on my MySpace, by clicking on the little myspace icon at the right or clicking on this over-linked sentence.
Now, onto the tip…
Okay, this tip will allow you to very easily update your twitter and facebook status at the same time all from your desktop. Pretty neat, huh?
Here are some steps:
- Go to Yahoo Widgets! and download the Twidget Widget. If you don’t already have Yahoo Widgets, download it from the site.
- Allow the widget to install and open it on your desktop.
- Next, log into your Facebook account and go to the Twitter Application Page.
- Follow the instructions and allow the app to get your info and everything else (log in with your Twitter account on fb).
- On your Twitter App Page, there’s a button that says “Allow Twitter to Update Your Facebook Status”, click it.
- Approve the status updates and go back to your desktop.
- Now click on the twitter button and make a tweet.
- Now, your twitter should be updated, and your Facebook status!
- Enjoy!
That’s that! Also, if you’d like only certain tweets to update your Facebook status, you can go to the Selective Twitter Status, where you’d have to type #fb to have it update your status.
