Reinstated YouTube Account?

So, if you read my Suspended YouTube Account post, then you’ll know what I’m talking about.

I don’t really know what happened, but, due to habit, I accidentally logged into YouTube with my old, copyright-infringed, community-guideline-crossing, shaytaan account: JawaadAhmadKhan. And guess what, I didn’t get an error message that said “Your account has been permanently removed.” I guess it wasn’t the demon spawn account that YouTube thought it was.

I found out what got me in trouble in the first place. It was a video I made over a year ago. It was a trailer for this broadway-style play that was being held by my youth group, FAYM (Florida Association of Young Muslims). I had used the auditions that took place for it.

Unfortunately, I also used the very-well-known dramatic, build-up, choir music that was claimed by some music-entertainment group. This was over a year ago mind you. That was when I first started making videos, and YouTube didn’t give me any idea of why my account had been closed.

The only reason I think it was reinstated was because the entertainment group (WGN Entertainment, I think) changed their policy. I looked at my issues, and it said that no action was now required on my part, but if their policy changes, my account may be permanently suspended. That’s probably what happened the first time.

So, I just went to the video, made sure it was still in my files (it’s always smart to archive all your past projects), and then took a big gulp and *DELETE*.

So I got my account back.

Though, I realized from this experience how much I almost lost there. It made me begin to think twice before just uploading any old thing, and making sure that everything I upload is also in my files. But a good thing did come from this. The starting of the FAYMTube account, from which all of FAYM’s videos will be hosted. So, I don’t need them on my account (I don’t know if it’s a plus or a minus, but it is what it is). This experience kind of reminded me of what happened to Arif Kabir and his Google account (“You don’t know what you got…“).

So, I’ll probably be closing my JawaadAhmadKhan2 account on YouTube, right after I re-upload all those vlogs (aaarrrghhhh), if anyone who’d commented on it could comment on the new videos, that’d be great, :) .

So, you’ll find my videos on YouTube once again hosted at JawaadAhmadKhan! Oh yeah!

By the way, I should be editing and uploading my 4th Vlog video, but I realized I forgot to mention this crucial event that happened to me this week in the video.

I’ll try to edit and upload it before the night’s out.

Wasalaamu ‘Alaikum

  • Congrats on getting your account back!
